NOTES OF A CHRISTIAN PILGRIM
NOTES OF A CHRISTIAN PILGRIM
Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Like Christ the Pilgrim, His disciples too are pilgrims in this world and, together with HIM say that we have come from God and are going to God (Jn 13:3). We are following HIM – our LORD and TEACHER (Jn 13:13) – in this earthly life, as “people on the WAY [of the Lord]” (Acts 19:23).
During the long journey of a pilgrimage one experiences many things, among others, JOY. And, one cannot be really joyfull unless that JOY is shared with others. This is the whole purpose of the messages written in this blog, i.e. “to share the Christian Pilgrim’s joy with his sisters and brothers in Christ.
May the Holy Trinity bless you all, especially with the gifts of Faith, Hope, and Love.

A PRAYER TO THE LORD
Lord of my origin, draw me closer to You;
Lord of my calling, give me strength to go on;
Lord of my faith, preserve me from doubt;
Lord of my hope, keep me from despair;
Lord of my love, let me never grow cold;
Lord of my past, may I never forget You;
Lord of my present, be near me always;
Lord of my future, keep me faithful to the end;
Lord of my life, let me live in Your presence;
Lord of my death, receive me at last;
Lord of my eternity, bless me forever.
Amen.
[Eric Doyle, OFM]
JOURNEY’S END
We go from God to God – then though
The way be long,
We shall return to Heaven our home
At evengong.
We go from God to God – so let
The space between
Be filled with beauty, conquering
Things base and mean.
We go from God to God – Lo! what
Transcendent bliss,
To know the journey’s end will hold
Such joy as this!

Hi. Judging by the Tau Cross symbol I would gather that you are a brother or sister Secular Franciscan. I was just wondering why you don’t use your name or your title if you are a Secular Franciscan. I myself still belong to the order but I withdrew from my fraternity. At present I still belong to the order because of a canonical rule. I am hoping to return someday but the liberal slant that the Secular Francisca Order has followed ( at least five years ago when I last attended) has me worried.I pray that somehow the Lord makes it possible for me to find a way to be with other like minded Franciscans. I have even toyed with the idea of forming an association of stranded SFO’s like myself. And I know that there are quite a few that are in my situation.
