SAINT MARY MAGDALENE (Feast: 22 July)

The story of Mary of Magdalene reminds us all of a fundamental truth…A disciple of Christ is one who, in the experience of human weakness, has had the humility to ask for his help, has been healed by him and has set out following closely after him, becoming a witness of the power of his merciful love that is stronger than sin and death. Prayer: Almighty, ever-living God, Your Only-begotten Son Jesus Christ made Mary Magdalene the first herald of Easter Joy. Grant that, following her example and helped by her prayers, we may, in this life, proclaim the living Christ, and come to se Him reigning with You in glory. We pray this in the most precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
