Today’s Gospel Reading: Mark 9:30-37 – 7th ORDINARY WEEK: 26 February 2019
This is Jesus’ second prediction of His coming suffering, death and Resurrection.
He continues to explain to the disciples not the specifics of the Resurrection glory but the necessity of the pain and suffering preceding it. This is the question that plagues every Christian heart and mind.
In another instance of the Kingdom’s reversal of our culture’s values, the Lord reminds us that true human greatness lies in service to others. This is a majesty of the human spirit that will become apparent for all to appreciate on the last day.
God can draw life from apparent death.
