THE WISDOM OF SAINT ANTHONY OF PADUA [1195-1231]

FRANCISCAN PRIEST & DOCTOR OF THE CHURCH – FEAST DAY: 13 JUNE

Jesus’ place should always be in the center of every heart. From this center, as if from a sun, emanate rays of grace to each of us.

Who can be more blessed or happier than one in whom God has set up His dwelling place? What else can you need or what else can possibly make you richer? You have everything when you have within you the One who made all things, the only One who can satisfy the longings of your spirit, without whom everything else is nothing.

Do you want to have everything? Give all of yourself and God will give you all of Himself, and thus, not having anything of yourself, you will totally possess God and yourself in Him.

Happy the man whose words issue from the Holy Spirit and not from himself.

Do something good for someone you like least, today.

O religious soul, dove beloved of Christ, behold those little pieces of straw which the world tramples under its feet. They are the virtues practiced by the Saviour and thy Spouse, for which He Himself has set thee an example: humility, meekness, poverty, penance, patience, and mortification.

We need external peace to live with others, internal peace to live with ourselves and eternal peace to live with God.

Christ is our life in example, truth in promise, life in reward; a way that is straight, a truth that does not deceive, a life that never ends.

    Dear Christian pilgrim,
Would it be possible to get permission to use this picture of St. Anthony on a relic card? Our pastor has a first-class relic of him and has touched linen to it (making the linen a third-class relic) to be used on prayer cards for our parishioners so they can have closer contact with this dear saint :).

    Thank you!

Please do as you wish. The picture of our beloved Saint belongs to all of us.

      Sincerely,
